The building raised with the noble purpose of healing started to march to a new destiny as the seat of the Barquisimeto Museum, an enterprise seeded in the land to return the true value of our heritage and to contribute to the cultural development of the city.

The Museum is the institution in charge of detecting, studying and spreading the testimonials of the actions of man in Barquisimeto and its historical region, rescuing and conserving that which makes possible the understanding of a cultural heritage and a characteristic identity, in order to attain a better life quality and the respect to fundamental values of the people.

A struggle happens daily in the museum with the promotion and defense of the culture of "Lara" and the participation of society is encouraged with this purpose in mind. Without doubt the spirit with which it was built remains alive in the long corridors of the Museum, in the calm chapel, in its wide rooms and shady yards. Barquisimeto has a secure space in which its men and women can create and grow, forever.
